**WhAt Is A Friend**
What is a friend?
I've heard everyone ask.
There are
different responses,
choices to be made,
and in the end,
there never is a same answer.
A friend comes in so
many forms.
Like so many I am blessed with.
When you are alone,
they are the first you call.
The one you get
so excited about,
just to see coming around the hall.
When there are times you cry,
they are the one you tell.
Enjoying the stories,
that helps heal all.
Just one is good enough for anyone.
As long as there is one,
nobody
can complain.
You never get sick of them,
year after year.
Instead enjoying the person they've become.
But
do friends always stay?
Sadly, they do not.
You might say yes,
but listen very closely.
Sometimes they change,
become someone they're not.
Then it is your turn.
To change the tears to a smile,
and make them realize that
someone cares.
Someone cares who you are.
What makes you is you.
The person who can laugh.
Who can have such
a good time,
even if the times are bad.
They know who you are,
yet have the sense to still care.
They never
change,
no matter the appearance.
Unless they hide themselves,
from nothing at all.
Afraid of something with
any scare.
So there you are,
explaining the details of nice.
Never change, you whisper.
Being you is good
enough for me.
If they listen, then they are the friend,
you can trust forever.

That
I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we
shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say goodbye and kiss
you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought
of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much
at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said "This is eternity,
And
all I've promised you."
Today for life on earth is past,
But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But
today will always last,
And since each day's the same day
There's no longing for the past.
But you have been
so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things,
You knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free.
So won't you take my hand
And share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For everytime you think of me,
I'm right
here, in your heart.
